A bill for an act
relating to energy; requiring a report on impact of certain energy-related
requirements.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin By January 15, 2011, the Public Utilities Commission shall submit a report to the
members of the senate and house of representatives committees with primary jurisdiction
over energy policy that analyzes the impact on ratepayers from the activities required
under Minnesota Statutes, section 216B.1692, and Laws 2007, chapter 136, including the
direct impact on rates from the cost of utilities conducting the activities, and any impacts
on energy prices resulting from the activities. Costs included in the report should be
estimated through the year 2025. The commission may assess public utilities for the cost
of the study. The assessment is not subject to a cap on assessments specified in Minnesota
Statutes, section 216B.62, or any other law.
