A bill for an act
relating to state government; precluding per diem living expenses for legislators
during a special session; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Notwithstanding section 3.099 or other law to the contrary, members of the legislature
may not receive special session per diem living expenses if the governor calls the special
session of the legislature to consider and enact into law any major finance and revenue bills
that were vetoed or otherwise not enacted into law during the immediately preceding regular
session, and if the legislature adjourns sine die within 48 hours of the time and date of
convening, as set out in the governor's proclamation.
