1.1                                        A bill for an act
1.2     relating to housing; appropriating money; amending Laws 2005, First Special 
1.3     Session chapter 1, article 3, section 5, subdivision 2.
1.4     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5         Section 1. Laws 2005, First Special Session chapter 1, article 3, section 5, subdivision 
1.6     2, is amended to read:
1.7      
1.8       Subd. 2.Challenge Program and Indian       
1.9     Programs                                     
1.10      10,907,00011,492,000  10,907,00011,492,000
1.11    For the economic development and  housing 
1.12    challenge program under  Minnesota 
1.13    Statutes, section 462A.33.  Of this amount, 
1.14    $1,285,000 each year  shall be made available 
1.15    during the  first eight months of the fiscal 
1.16    year  exclusively for housing projects for 
1.17    American Indians.  Any funds not  committed 
1.18    to housing projects for  American Indians in 
1.19    the first eight  months of the fiscal year, shall 
1.20    be  available for any eligible activity  under 
1.21    Minnesota Statutes, section  462A.33.

2.1     $9,622,000 the first year and $9,622,000 
2.2     the second year are for the economic 
2.3     development and housing challenge program 
2.4     under Minnesota Statutes, section 462A.33.
2.5     $187,000 the first year and $187,000 the 
2.6     second year are for the urban Indian housing 
2.7     program under Minnesota Statutes, section 
2.8     462A.07, subdivision 15.
2.9     $1,683,000 the first year and $1,683,000 the 
2.10    second year are for the tribal Indian housing 
2.11    program under Minnesota Statutes, section 
2.12    462A.07, subdivision 14.
2.13    These programs and appropriations are part 
2.14    of the agency's permanent budget base. This 
2.15    appropriation is available upon enactment.
