  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education funding; authorizing certain 
  1.3             school districts to conduct an operating referendum on 
  1.4             a day other than the first Tuesday following the first 
  1.5             Monday in November. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [OPERATING REFERENDUM.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 126C.17, 
  1.9   subdivision 9, paragraph (g), or 11, during calendar year 2000, 
  1.10  independent school district Nos. 182, Crosby-Ironton; 199, Inver 
  1.11  Grove; 332, Mora; 578, Pine City; 622, North St. Paul-Maplewood; 
  1.12  624, White Bear Lake; 811, Wabasha-Kellogg; 834, Stillwater; 
  1.13  861, Winona; 2144, Chisago Lakes; 2174, Pine River-Backus; and 
  1.14  2365, G.F.W., may conduct an operating referendum under 
  1.15  Minnesota Statutes, section 126C.17, on a day other than the 
  1.16  first Tuesday following the first Monday in November. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
