A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; regulating importation of hunter-harvested Cervidae
carcasses; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 97A.505, subdivision 8.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 97A.505, subdivision 8, is amended to read:


Subd. 8.

Importation of hunter-harvested Cervidae.

(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b), importing

portions of meat with no part of the spinal column or head attached, antlers, hides, teeth,
finished taxidermy mounts, and antlers attached to skull caps that are cleaned of all brain

nonresidents.

new text begin (b) Notwithstanding the restrictions in paragraph (a), a resident may import
hunter-harvested Cervidae carcasses that are delivered within 72 hours of importation to a
taxidermist licensed under this chapter or a meat-processing facility licensed under chapter
28A.
