relating to education finance; appropriating money for tribal education liaisons.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin The sums indicated in this section are
appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of education for the fiscal year
designated.

new text begin Tribal education liaisons. new text end

new text begin For a grant to the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe
to hire tribal education liaisons to work in Leech Lake-area school districts to address
truancy and other issues in an effort to close the achievement gap in American Indian
students served by those districts:

new text begin Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is available in the second year. The
base appropriation for the next biennium is $500,000 each year.
