  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Hennepin county; providing for the 
  1.3             continuation of the county's environmental response 
  1.4             fund; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.5             383B.81, by adding subdivisions; repealing Minnesota 
  1.6             Statutes 2000, section 383B.80, subdivision 4. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 383B.81, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 9.  [PRIORITIES.] Beginning July 1, 2002, the board 
  1.11  of county commissioners must give priority to projects that 
  1.12  reclaim polluted land for housing and for remediation projects 
  1.13  in which other governmental and private sector funds are limited.
  1.14     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 383B.81, is 
  1.15  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.16     Subd. 10.  [SOLICITATION OF PROPOSALS.] At least annually, 
  1.17  the board of county commissioners must solicit proposals from 
  1.18  private sector developers and organizations for projects that 
  1.19  qualify pursuant to subdivision 2. 
  1.20     Sec. 3.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 383B.81, is 
  1.21  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.22     Subd. 11.  [REPORT.] Beginning July 1, 2002, and annually 
  1.23  thereafter, the board of county commissioners must prepare a 
  1.24  report on the amount of the revenues generated by the tax 
  1.25  imposed in section 383B.80, and any expenditures made by the 
  1.26  fund.  The first report will cover the activities of the fund 
  2.1   from the date of inception. 
  2.2      Sec. 4.  [REPEALER.] 
  2.3      Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 383B.80, subdivision 4, is 
  2.4   repealed.
