 relating to public safety; providing funding for a community restorative antiviolence
program; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $800,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $800,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of public safety for a grant to Guns Down Love Up, a
community organization that promotes safety using prevention, intervention, and restorative
practices within the African American community. The unencumbered balance in the first
year does not cancel but is available for the second year. $800,000 is added to the base in
fiscal years 2024, 2025, and 2026 for this purpose.
