A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money for integrated pest management.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) $250,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of agriculture:
new text end

new text begin (1) to promote pollinator habitats in agricultural landscapes;
new text end

new text begin (2) to assist farmers with the implementation of best management practices to protect
wild and managed insect pollinators; and
new text end

new text begin (3) to assist farmers in reducing the use of pesticides that contain neonicotinoid
insecticides or fipronil.

new text begin (b) By January 15, 2017, the commissioner of agriculture shall submit a report
to the chairs and ranking minority members of the senate and house of representatives
committees with jurisdiction over agriculture policy and finance on the activities and
outcomes of the activities funded under this section.
