  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to real property; authorizing the sale of 
  1.3             certain state-owned real property to St. Louis county. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [STATE BUILDING SALE TO COUNTY.] 
  1.6      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.695 and 
  1.7   94.09, or other law, administrative rule, or commissioner's 
  1.8   order to the contrary, the state of Minnesota by and through its 
  1.9   department of administration, shall at the request of the St. 
  1.10  Louis county board of commissioners, sell and convey to St. 
  1.11  Louis county for a consideration in the amount of $2,300,000, 
  1.12  certain real property known as the government services center 
  1.13  and parking ramp legally described as: 
  1.14     lots 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, Duluth proper first 
  1.15  division, West Second Street.  
  1.16  The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney 
  1.17  general. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [RIGHTS, OBLIGATIONS.] 
  1.19     All rights, obligations, and remedies under existing leases 
  1.20  of said real property are merged with this conveyance.  Current 
  1.21  leasehold rights and obligations shall be assigned to St. Louis 
  1.22  county. 
  1.23     Sec. 3.  [CONTINUE STATE LEASE.] 
  1.24     St. Louis county shall, for a period of at least ten years 
  2.1   following sale of the above-described property, continue to 
  2.2   allow the state of Minnesota to lease the space occupied by the 
  2.3   state of Minnesota at the time of the sale at the current lease 
  2.4   rate with adjustment for operational costs. 
  2.5      Sec. 4.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.6      This act is effective the day following final enactment.
