  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to transit; appropriating money for greater 
  1.3             Minnesota transit operating and capital assistance; 
  1.4             authorizing issuance of state bonds. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS; GREATER MINNESOTA TRANSIT.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [OPERATING ASSISTANCE.] $4,000,000 is 
  1.8   appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.9   transportation for greater Minnesota transit operating 
  1.10  assistance under Minnesota Statutes, section 174.24. 
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [REPLACEMENT BUSES.] $8,000,000 is appropriated 
  1.12  from the general fund to the commissioner of transportation for 
  1.13  capital assistance for greater Minnesota transit systems to be 
  1.14  used to replace buses and other transit vehicles. 
  1.15     Subd. 3.  [TRANSIT CAPITAL FACILITIES.] $4,000,000 is 
  1.16  appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of 
  1.17  transportation for capital assistance for greater Minnesota 
  1.18  transit systems to be used for transit capital facilities. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE AUTHORIZATION.] 
  1.20     To provide the money appropriated in section 1 from the 
  1.21  bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance, on request of 
  1.22  the governor, shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an 
  1.23  amount up to $4,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with 
  1.24  the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 
  1.25  16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 
  2.1   4 to 7.
