  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to health; requiring hospice programs to 
  1.3             properly dispose of legend drugs; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1996, section 144A.48, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 144A.48, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 7.  [LEGEND DRUGS.] When a legend drug, as defined 
  1.10  under section 151.01, subdivision 17, that is kept in the home 
  1.11  of a hospice patient is no longer needed by the hospice patient, 
  1.12  a hospice program shall dispose of the legend drug according to 
  1.13  rules adopted by the commissioner of health.
