  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public lands; modifying a land conveyance 
  1.3             in Itasca county; amending Laws 1999, chapter 161, 
  1.4             section 30. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 1999, chapter 161, section 30, is amended 
  1.7   to read: 
  1.8      Sec. 30.  [PRIVATE CONVEYANCE OF COUNTY LAND; ITASCA 
  1.9   COUNTY.] 
  1.10     (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section sections 
  1.11  282.018, subdivision 1, and 373.01, subdivision 1, clause 
  1.12  (4), Itasca county may privately and the public sale provisions 
  1.13  of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, the commissioner of revenue 
  1.14  shall convey the land described in paragraph (b) as 
  1.15  tax-forfeited to the former owner for no consideration. 
  1.16     (b) The land to be conveyed is described as:  
  1.17     That portion of Government Lot 2 lying and being North of 
  1.18     the Ball Club river in Section 31, Township 145, Range 25, 
  1.19     according to the government survey thereof on file and of 
  1.20     record with the county recorder of and for said county and 
  1.21     state. 
  1.22     Subject to reservations, restrictions, and easements as 
  1.23     they appear of record.  
  1.24     (c) The land described in paragraph (b) was donated to 
  1.25  Itasca county to develop a park.  Itasca county has chosen not 
  2.1   to develop a park and has determined that the land should be 
  2.2   returned to the donor.
