  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to cities; exempting the city of Luverne from 
  1.3             Minnesota investment fund grant limit. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [MINNESOTA INVESTMENT FUND; CITY OF LUVERNE.] 
  1.6      Notwithstanding the grant limit contained in Minnesota 
  1.7   Statutes, section 116J.8731, subdivision 5, a grant of up to 
  1.8   $1,000,000 may be made to the city of Luverne to offset severe 
  1.9   job losses due to plant closings. 
  1.10     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.11     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
