coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin For the purposes of this section, the terms defined in this
subdivision have the meanings given them:

new text begin (a) "information and telecommunications technology systems and services" has the
meaning given in section 16E.03, subdivision 1, paragraph (a).

new text begin (b) "cyber security" has the meaning given in section 16E.03, subdivision 1, paragraph
(d).

new text begin (a) The secretary of state may retain two percent of all
statutory fees collected by the secretary of state for expenditures related to maintenance and
enhancement of the secretary of state's information and telecommunications technology
systems and services, and of the secretary of state's cyber security.

new text begin (b) Funds received under this subdivision must be deposited in an account in the special
revenue fund and are appropriated to the secretary of state for the purposes in this subdivision.
