  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to unemployment insurance; extending 
  1.3             exception for certain wage credits earned; amending 
  1.4             Laws 2002, chapter 380, article 1, section 3. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 2002, chapter 380, article 1, section 3, 
  1.7   is amended to read: 
  1.8      Sec. 3.  [UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE; FOOD SERVICES.] 
  1.9      Notwithstanding the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.10  section 268.085, subdivision 8, wage credits from an employer 
  1.11  are not subject to the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.12  268.085, subdivision 7, if those wage credits were earned by an 
  1.13  employee of a private employer performing work pursuant to a 
  1.14  contract between the employer and an elementary or secondary 
  1.15  school and the employment was related to food services provided 
  1.16  to the school by the employer.  This section expires December 
  1.17  31, 2004. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
