  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to motor vehicles; regulating installations 
  1.3             of air bag on-off switches and deactivations; 
  1.4             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.5             chapter 169. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [169.687] [AIR BAGS; ON-OFF SWITCHES AND 
  1.8   DEACTIVATIONS.] 
  1.9      A dealer or motor vehicle repair business that installs an 
  1.10  air bag on-off switch or deactivates a motor vehicle air bag 
  1.11  according to rules of the United States Department of 
  1.12  Transportation is not liable for damages in any litigation 
  1.13  involving personal injuries or property damage resulting from 
  1.14  the deployment of an air bag or the failure of an air bag to 
  1.15  deploy. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
