  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing a grant to 
  1.3             coordinate facilities and program planning between the 
  1.4             Minnesota State College and University System and 
  1.5             intermediate school districts; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [PLANNING GRANT.] 
  1.8      (a) $300,000 in fiscal year 2001 is appropriated from the 
  1.9   general fund to the board of trustees of the Minnesota State 
  1.10  Colleges and Universities to plan and coordinate programs 
  1.11  between the intermediate school districts and the Minnesota 
  1.12  State College and University System. 
  1.13     (b) Of this appropriation, the board of trustees must 
  1.14  allocate $100,000 for planning with intermediate school district 
  1.15  No. 287; $100,000 for planning with intermediate school district 
  1.16  No. 916; and $100,000 for planning with intermediate school 
  1.17  district No. 917. 
  1.18     (c) The board of trustees and the intermediate school 
  1.19  districts must study the compatibility of program offerings and 
  1.20  develop a long-range facilities plan to address intermediate 
  1.21  school district facility needs.  The results of the study must 
  1.22  be reported to the education committees of the legislature by 
  1.23  February 15, 2001.
