  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; modifying requirements for 
  1.3             documentation of long-term care facility payrolls; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 256B.432, 
  1.5             subdivision 8. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 256B.432, 
  1.8   subdivision 8, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 8.  [ADEQUATE DOCUMENTATION SUPPORTING LONG-TERM CARE 
  1.10  FACILITY PAYROLLS.] Beginning July 1, 1993 1998, payroll records 
  1.11  supporting compensation costs claimed by long-term care 
  1.12  facilities must be supported by affirmative time and attendance 
  1.13  records prepared by each individual at intervals of not more 
  1.14  than one month.  The requirements of this subdivision are met 
  1.15  when documentation is provided under either clause (1) or (2) as 
  1.16  follows: 
  1.17     (1) the affirmative time and attendance record must 
  1.18  identify the individual's name; the days worked during each pay 
  1.19  period; the number of hours worked each day; and the number of 
  1.20  hours taken each day by the individual for vacation, sick, and 
  1.21  other leave.  The affirmative time and attendance record must 
  1.22  include a signed verification by the individual and the 
  1.23  individual's supervisor, if any, that the entries reported on 
  1.24  the record are correct.; or 
  1.25     (2) if the affirmative time and attendance records 
  2.1   identifying the individual's name, the days worked each pay 
  2.2   period, the number of hours worked each day, and the number of 
  2.3   hours taken each day by the individual for vacation, sick, and 
  2.4   other leave are placed on microfilm, equipment must be made 
  2.5   available for viewing and printing them, or if the records are 
  2.6   stored as automated data, summary data must be available for 
  2.7   viewing and printing.
