  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to hospital districts; providing for board 
  1.3             membership in the Yellow Medicine County Hospital 
  1.4             District; amending Laws 1963, chapter 276, section 2, 
  1.5             by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1963, chapter 276, section 2, is amended 
  1.8   by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2a.  In addition to elected members of the hospital 
  1.10  district board, the board may appoint not more than three 
  1.11  additional voting members who are not residents of the 
  1.12  district.  The terms of appointed members must be designated by 
  1.13  the board at the time of appointment, but must not exceed three 
  1.14  years.  Appointed members may be reappointed for successive 
  1.15  terms.  Appointed members have all the privileges of board 
  1.16  membership including eligibility to hold office.  Appointed 
  1.17  members may be removed from office or the board without cause by 
  1.18  a two-thirds majority vote of the elected members.
