  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to economic development; appropriating money 
  1.3             to assist in the redevelopment of the Stroh Brewery 
  1.4             site and creation of manufacturing jobs. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; STROH BREWERY REDEVELOPMENT.] 
  1.7      $10,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of trade and economic development for transfer as a 
  1.9   grant to the St. Paul Port Authority for assistance in 
  1.10  redevelopment of the Stroh Brewery site and adjacent properties 
  1.11  to create light manufacturing jobs.  This money must be used for 
  1.12  necessary site preparation and other predevelopment activities.  
  1.13  This appropriation is available until spent. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
