  1.2             relating to education; repealing the prohibition 
  1.3             against beginning the school year before Labor Day; 
  1.4             repealing Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 126.12. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.7      Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 126.12, is repealed. 
  1.8      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.9      Section 1 is effective for the 2000-2001 school year and 
  1.10  thereafter.
