  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; appropriating money for a 
  1.3             grant to a joint powers board for beaver damage 
  1.4             control. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $150,000 is appropriated to the commissioner of agriculture 
  1.8   for a grant to the beaver damage control joint powers board 
  1.9   formed by the counties of Beltrami, Clearwater, Marshall, 
  1.10  Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, Mahnomen, Norman, Becker, Hubbard, 
  1.11  Itasca, Kittson, Koochiching, St. Louis, Roseau, and Lake of the 
  1.12  Woods for the purpose of beaver damage control.  The grant must 
  1.13  be matched by at least $80,000 from the joint powers board.  The 
  1.14  joint powers board may enter into an agreement with the Red Lake 
  1.15  Band of Chippewa Indians for participation by the band in the 
  1.16  joint powers board's beaver damage control program.  This 
  1.17  appropriation is available until June 30, 1997.
