  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing independent school 
  1.3             district No. 2853, Lac qui Parle Valley, to include a 
  1.4             school nurse and medical personnel in its health and 
  1.5             safety program. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [HEALTH AND SAFETY; LAC QUI PARLE VALLEY.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 123B.57, 
  1.9   independent school district No. 2853, Lac qui Parle Valley, may 
  1.10  include in its health and safety program the costs related to 
  1.11  employment of a school nurse during regular school hours and 
  1.12  medical personnel, such as a first responder, to be on duty 
  1.13  during after-school practices and events. 
  1.14     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.15  following final enactment.
