A bill for an act
relating to local government; authorizing transfer of funds to Steele County;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 134A.17, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 134A.17, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin If the Steele County Law Library, through its trustees, has a
fiscal reserve that is projected to sustain its operations for a period of over five years, the
Steele County Law Library may transfer up to half of the money in its fiscal reserve, but
not to exceed $100,000, to Steele County to defray costs of installing courthouse entrance
security improvements to the Steele County Courthouse.
