A bill for an act
relating to transportation; requiring certain noise analysis and noise barrier program
activities for a segment of marked Interstate Highway 494.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin (a) The commissioner of transportation must perform a revised noise analysis for the
east side of marked Interstate Highway 494 from Schmidt Lake Road to Hennepin County
Road 47 in Plymouth. If the analysis finds the traffic noise impacts exceed the requirements
used by the Department of Transportation to comply with the standards under Code of
Federal Regulations, title 23, parts 772 and 774; Minnesota Statutes, section 116.07,
subdivision 2a; and Minnesota Rules, parts 7030.0010 to 7030.1060, the commissioner
must set that segment of the highway as the top priority ranking in the department's
metropolitan district noise abatement program.

contribution for a noise barrier project performed due to paragraph (a).
