  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to health; extending the time requirement for 
  1.3             submission of claims by vendors of medical care. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [EXTENSION OF TIME REQUIREMENT FOR CLAIM 
  1.6   SUBMITTAL.] 
  1.7      The commissioner of human services shall provide vendors of 
  1.8   medical care, as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 256B.02, 
  1.9   subdivision 7, with a 60-day extension to the 12-month time 
  1.10  requirement for submission of claims in Minnesota Rules, part 
  1.11  9505.0450, for all claims for which the vendor delayed submittal 
  1.12  at the request of the commissioner due to the phase-in of the 
  1.13  upgrade to the Medicaid management information system.  This 
  1.14  60-day extension for claim submittal shall apply regardless of 
  1.15  the date of service of the claim. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
