  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; extending the garage lease levy 
  1.3             for Independent School District No. 740, Sartell; 
  1.4             amending Laws 2003, First Special Session chapter 9, 
  1.5             article 4, section 29. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 2003, First Special Session chapter 9, 
  1.8   article 4, section 29, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Sec. 29.  [GARAGE LEASE LEVY; SARTELL.] 
  1.10     For taxes payable in 2004, 2005, and 2006, and 2007, 
  1.11  independent school district No. 740, Sartell, may levy up to 
  1.12  $107,000 each year for the purpose of leasing a school bus 
  1.13  storage facility.  The department of education shall include 
  1.14  this levy in the calculation of eligible building lease levy 
  1.15  under Minnesota Statutes, section 126C.40, subdivision 1.  This 
  1.16  levy shall not allow the district to exceed the $100 per 
  1.17  resident marginal cost pupil unit cap in that section.  The 
  1.18  district is eligible to make this levy only if it sells its 
  1.19  current school bus storage site to the city of Sartell and the 
  1.20  district may not use this levy as part of a lease purchase 
  1.21  agreement to replace its current school bus storage facility.
