  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to elections; allowing use of funds of a 
  1.3             nonprofit corporation for administration of a 
  1.4             political committee or political fund; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 211B.15, by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 211B.15, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 17.  [ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS.] It is not a violation of 
  1.11  this section for a nonprofit corporation to provide a political 
  1.12  committee or political fund, as defined in section 10A.01, 
  1.13  administrative assistance including accounting and legal 
  1.14  services, check printing, banking charges, payroll deduction 
  1.15  services, employee and shareholder lists, meeting facilities, 
  1.16  refreshments, communications facilities, office space, 
  1.17  utilities, supplies, and time for its employees to solicit and 
  1.18  respond to solicitations of contributions to the committee or 
  1.19  fund, to make contributions from the committee or fund, and to 
  1.20  provide incidental staff services. 
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.22     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
