  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the private sale 
  1.3             of certain surplus state land to the city of Mountain 
  1.4             Iron in St. Louis county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF SURPLUS LAND; ST. LOUIS 
  1.7   COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 94.09 and 
  1.9   94.10, or other law to the contrary, the commissioner of 
  1.10  administration shall sell by private sale the surplus land 
  1.11  described in paragraph (c) to the city of Mountain Iron. 
  1.12     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.13  attorney general.  The consideration must be for the appraised 
  1.14  value of the land, as determined by an appraiser mutually agreed 
  1.15  upon by the commissioner and the city of Mountain Iron.  The 
  1.16  sale must be completed within one year of the effective date of 
  1.17  this act. 
  1.18     (c) The land to be sold consists of 40 acres and is 
  1.19  described as: 
  1.20     The Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 
  1.21     11, Township 58 North, Range 18 West, St. Louis county, 
  1.22     Minnesota. 
  1.23     (d) The land described in paragraph (c) is surplus state 
  1.24  land and the state's land management interests would best be 
  1.25  served by selling the land to the city of Mountain Iron for 
  2.1   residential development. 
  2.2      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.3      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
