  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to veterans; authorizing certain improvements 
  1.3             at the Hastings, Luverne, and Silver Bay veterans 
  1.4             homes using donated funds. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [VETERANS HOMES IMPROVEMENTS.] 
  1.7      The veterans homes board of directors may make and maintain 
  1.8   the following improvements to the indicated veterans homes using 
  1.9   money donated for those purposes: 
  1.10     (1) at the Hastings veterans home, an outdoor bus shelter 
  1.11  and smoking area for residents and a pole barn for storage of 
  1.12  residents' property; 
  1.13     (2) at the Luverne veterans home, a garage, picnic shelter, 
  1.14  and sidewalk; and 
  1.15     (3) at the Silver Bay veterans home, a garage, maintenance, 
  1.16  and storage space, a three-season porch at the east entrance, 
  1.17  and landscaping as follows: 
  1.18     (i) walking and wheelchair trails; 
  1.19     (ii) stationary benches along trails; 
  1.20     (iii) flag pole relocation; 
  1.21     (iv) a gazebo in the dementia wander area; and 
  1.22     (v) two patio areas. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [FISCAL ACCOUNTING.] 
  1.24     Money donated for purposes listed in section 1 shall be 
  1.25  accounted for in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 
  2.1   198.161.
