A bill for an act
relating to state government; prohibiting the commissioner of administration from
limiting public access to certain buildings on days during which the Department
of Revenue engages in activity necessary to collect a tax mandated by state law;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 16B.24, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 16B.24, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Closure of State Capitol and legislative offices prohibited. new text end

new text begin Notwithstanding
emergency orders issued under chapter 12, or any other applicable law or legislative rule
to the contrary, the commissioner is prohibited from limiting public access to the State
Capitol, the State Office Building, and the Minnesota Senate Building during regular business
hours on any day during which the Department of Revenue engages in any activity necessary
to collect a tax mandated by state law.
