  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to agriculture; appropriating additional 
  1.3             money for a program to control bovine paratuberculosis.
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; PARATUBERCULOSIS.] 
  1.6      $30,000 in fiscal year 1998 and $160,000 in fiscal year 
  1.7   1999 is appropriated from the general fund to the board of 
  1.8   animal health to expand the program for the control of 
  1.9   paratuberculosis ("Johne's disease") in domestic bovine herds.  
  1.10  These appropriations are in addition to the appropriations for 
  1.11  the same purposes in Laws 1997, chapter 216, section 8. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
