A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for an affordable housing
project.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $7,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of housing finance to construct affordable housing at the corner of 56th and Lyndale in
Minneapolis. The housing must consist of 104 units with a mix of occupancies ranging from
studios to three-bedroom apartments with affordable rents ranging from $650 to $1,100 a
month. The units must target: (1) low-income individuals and families with incomes 50
percent to 60 percent of the local area median income, (2) veterans, and (3) individuals with
HIV/AIDS. The development must include community space that includes supportive social
service programs. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until spent.
