  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; prohibiting local 
  1.3             governments from regulating charges of entities 
  1.4             regulated by the commissioner of commerce; proposing 
  1.5             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 465. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [465.755] [NO REGULATION OF BUSINESS CHARGES.] 
  1.8      No statutory or home rule charter city, county, town, or 
  1.9   other political subdivision of the state shall regulate charges 
  1.10  imposed by financial institutions or any other entities engaged 
  1.11  in any business regulated by the commissioner of commerce.  This 
  1.12  includes financial institutions or other entities that would be 
  1.13  regulated by the commissioner of commerce if they were not 
  1.14  federally chartered or regulated principally under the laws of 
  1.15  another state or jurisdiction.
