A bill for an act
relating to higher education; requiring a report on how to achieve a ten percent
reduction in administrative costs.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AND MINNESOTA STATE COLLEGES
AND UNIVERSITIES REPORT ON TEN PERCENT REDUCTION IN
ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS.

new text begin The University of Minnesota and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities shall
each provide a report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative
committees with jurisdiction over higher education by January 15, 2020, detailing how the
University of Minnesota and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities would achieve
a ten percent reduction in administrative costs. Each report must identify with specificity
the proposed reductions that are necessary to achieve an overall ten percent reduction.
