relating to agriculture; appropriating money for drought relief grants to eligible
farmers.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; DROUGHT RELIEF.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
agriculture for grants to Minnesota farmers located in areas of the state classified as D2,
D3, or D4 by the U.S. Drought Monitor to offset the cost of crop insurance. The
commissioner must limit grant amounts to one-half of a farmer's documented annual crop
insurance premium, not to exceed $1,000 per farmer.
