A bill for an act
relating to state government; appropriating money for a grant to Red Lake Band
of Chippewa Indians to purchase certain property to provide shelter to residents
of the Hiawatha Homeless Encampment.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; RED LAKE BAND OF CHIPPEWA INDIANS.

new text begin $3,000,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2020 from the general fund to the commissioner
of Minnesota Management and Budget for a grant to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa
Indians to acquire the property at 2012 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota to continue
the housing, supportive services, and transition of residents of the Hiawatha Homeless
Encampment termed "The Wall of Forgotten Natives" that is currently located at the
Navigation Center, located at 2105 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and scheduled
to close on May 31, 2019.
