  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; changing foster care 
  1.3             licensing; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.4             245A.06, subdivision 2. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 245A.06, 
  1.7   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 2.  [RECONSIDERATION OF CORRECTION ORDERS.] If the 
  1.9   applicant or license holder believes that the contents of the 
  1.10  commissioner's correction order are in error, the applicant or 
  1.11  license holder may ask the department of human services to 
  1.12  reconsider the parts of the correction order that are alleged to 
  1.13  be in error.  The commissioner's correction order given to the 
  1.14  applicant or license holder must inform the applicant or license 
  1.15  holder of the right to request reconsideration by the 
  1.16  commissioner.  The request for reconsideration must be in 
  1.17  writing and received by the commissioner within 20 calendar days 
  1.18  after receipt of the correction order by the applicant or 
  1.19  license holder, and: 
  1.20     (1) specify the parts of the correction order that are 
  1.21  alleged to be in error; 
  1.22     (2) explain why they are in error; and 
  1.23     (3) include documentation to support the allegation of 
  1.24  error. 
  1.25     A request for reconsideration does not stay any provisions 
  2.1   or requirements of the correction order.  The commissioner's 
  2.2   disposition of a request for reconsideration is final and not 
  2.3   subject to appeal under chapter 14.
