  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; authorizing the 
  1.3             issuance of state bonds; appropriating money for 
  1.4             Veterans Homes Board projects. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $6,597,200 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.8   the commissioner of administration for the following Veterans 
  1.9   Homes Board projects: 
  1.10     (1) Minneapolis Veterans Home:  $1,031,450 for the state's 
  1.11  portion to remodel building 4 to provide adult day care services 
  1.12  in the surrounding communities; 
  1.13     (2) Silver Bay Veterans Home:  $1,347,150 for the state's 
  1.14  portion of the master plan including renovation of existing 
  1.15  space and an addition to the nursing home facility; 
  1.16     (3) Luverne Veterans Home:  $282,450 for the state's 
  1.17  portion for a structural building addition to the nursing care 
  1.18  facility to be used as an Alzheimer's/dementia wander area; 
  1.19     (4) Minneapolis Veterans Home:  $1,612,450 for the state's 
  1.20  portion for remodeling and expansion of the main dining room and 
  1.21  food preparation and kitchen space in building 17; and 
  1.22     (5) Fergus Falls Veterans Home:  $2,323,700 for the state's 
  1.23  portion to construct a 22-bed special care unit. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.25     To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond 
  2.1   proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue 
  2.2   bonds of the state in an amount up to $6,597,200 in the manner, 
  2.3   upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota 
  2.4   Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota 
  2.5   Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  2.6      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.7      Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.8   enactment.
