  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; modifying terms for 
  1.3             disabled hunter permits; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             1995 Supplement, section 97B.055, subdivision 3. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1995 Supplement, section 
  1.7   97B.055, subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 3.  [HUNTING FROM VEHICLE BY DISABLED HUNTERS.] The 
  1.9   commissioner may issue a special permit, without a fee, to 
  1.10  discharge a firearm or bow and arrow from a stationary motor 
  1.11  vehicle to a licensed hunter who has a temporary or permanent 
  1.12  physical disability.  The physical disability must be 
  1.13  established by medical evidence verified in writing by a 
  1.14  licensed physician.  A person with a temporary disability may be 
  1.15  issued an annual permit and a person with a permanent disability 
  1.16  may be issued a permanent permit.  If a temporary disability 
  1.17  occurs ten days or less before the beginning of a hunting 
  1.18  season, a written statement from a licensed physician verifying 
  1.19  the temporary disability will suffice in lieu of a special 
  1.20  permit.  A person issued a special permit under this subdivision 
  1.21  and hunting deer may take a deer of either sex.
