  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to juvenile crime prevention; appropriating 
  1.3             money for a pilot project. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [JUVENILE CRIME PREVENTION PILOT PROJECT.] 
  1.6      $100,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1999 from the 
  1.7   general fund to Ramsey county for planning for a pilot project 
  1.8   on juvenile crime prevention.  
  1.9      The pilot project is expected to involve cooperative 
  1.10  planning, service design and delivery, budgeting, and evaluation 
  1.11  across multiple departments and with community-based youth 
  1.12  programs to achieve shared outcomes for youth.  The focus of the 
  1.13  project is on secondary crime/violence prevention programs or 
  1.14  services. 
  1.15     The county shall report to the legislature by February 1, 
  1.16  1999, on the results of its planning efforts.
