A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; modifying trespass law; amending Minnesota Statutes
2010, section 97B.001, subdivision 7.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 97B.001, subdivision 7, is amended to read:
(a) A person may not take a wild
animal with a firearm within 500 feet of a building occupied by a human or livestock
without the written permission of the owner, occupant, or lessee:
(1) on another person's private land; or
(2) on a public right-of-way.
(b) A person may not take a wild animal with a firearmnew text begin ,new text end without the permission of
the owner, occupant, or lessee, within 500 feet of a stockade or corral containing livestock.new text begin
For the purposes of this paragraph, a "stockade or corral" means a fenced enclosure for
containing livestock that does not enclose an area greater than one acre.

(c) new text begin A person may not take a wild animal with a firearm, without the permission of
the owner, occupant, or lessee, within 250 feet of a fenced pasture containing livestock
that encloses an area greater than one acre, if the fenced pasture has been posted as
provided under subdivision 4.

from entering by this section.
