A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a regional apprenticeship
training center in the city of Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MINNEAPOLIS REGIONAL APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING CENTER.

new text begin $4,000,000 in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for one or more grants to Northgate Development,
LLC, or Renewable Energy Partners, Inc., or both, to design, construct, furnish, and equip
a regional apprenticeship training center in the city of Minneapolis to provide skills training
to students and young adults in emerging energy-related and utility careers. This is a onetime
appropriation and is available until June 30, 2023. Of this amount:

training center; and
