acquisition and development; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Appropriation. new text end

new text begin $10,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
fund to the commissioner of natural resources for the purposes of this section.

new text begin Scientific and natural areas (SNA) acquisition. new text end

new text begin $2,500,000 of this
appropriation is to acquire and designate approximately 500 acres of land for scientific
and natural areas under Minnesota Statutes, sections 84.033 and 86A.05, subdivision 5.

new text begin Native prairie bank (NPB) acquisition. new text end

new text begin $2,100,000 of this appropriation
is to acquire native prairie bank easements under Minnesota Statutes, section 84.96, on
approximately 750 acres of privately owned native prairie land.

new text begin SNA and NPB development. new text end

new text begin $400,000 of this appropriation is for
protection, restoration, and improvements of a capital nature to scientific and natural areas
under Minnesota Statutes, sections 84.033 and 86A.05, subdivision 5, and to develop and
restore certain tracts of prairie bank lands for which the easement is permanent.

new text begin Wildlife and aquatic management area acquisition and development.

new text begin $5,000,000 of this appropriation is to acquire land in fee for wildlife management area and
aquatic management area purposes and for improvements of a capital nature to develop,
protect, or improve habitat and facilities on wildlife and aquatic management areas under
Minnesota Statutes, section 86A.05, subdivisions 8 and 14.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
bonds of the state in an amount up to $10,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
