  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to horse racing; providing for electronic 
  1.3             wagers; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.4             240.13, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 240.13, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 10.  [ELECTRONIC WAGER.] To the extent authorized by 
  1.9   United States Code, title 15, sections 3001 through 3007, and 
  1.10  not prohibited by statute, the commission may permit a class B 
  1.11  licensee who conducts pari-mutuel wagering on horse races at a 
  1.12  class A licensed facility to accept pari-mutuel horse race 
  1.13  wagers through electronic media.  Wagers accepted pursuant to 
  1.14  this subdivision shall be treated in the same manner as 
  1.15  simulcast wagers.
