  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Hennepin county; removing the dollar 
  1.3             limitation for certain small purchases that may be 
  1.4             authorized by the board; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1996, section 383B.143, subdivision 4. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 383B.143, 
  1.8   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [SMALL PURCHASES; RULES.] The board may 
  1.10  authorize, subject to rules promulgated by the administrator, 
  1.11  purchases other than those defined in subdivision 1, not to.  
  1.12  exceed the sum of $250 for each purchase and not to exceed an 
  1.13  annual amount for all such purchases greater than $10,000 from 
  1.14  the total annual appropriation for any department. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective, without local approval, the day 
  1.17  after its final enactment.
