relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a youth job corps
program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin ST. PAUL YOUTH JOBS CORPS; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $600,000 in fiscal year 2013, and each fiscal year thereafter, is appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a
grant to the city of St. Paul for the youth job corps program. Grant funds may be used to
provide summer employment opportunities for youth who reside in the city of St. Paul
and who are between the ages of 14 and 21 years, are economically disadvantaged, or are
considered to be "at risk" youth. No more than one percent of the amount appropriated
may be retained by the department for administrative expenses.
