  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to employment; requiring notice of intent to 
  1.3             shift jobs out of the country; proposing coding for 
  1.4             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 181.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [181.981] [SHIFTING JOBS OUT OF COUNTRY; 
  1.7   EMPLOYER NOTICE.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITION.] For the purpose of this 
  1.9   section, "employer" means any person having one or more 
  1.10  employees in Minnesota and includes the state and any political 
  1.11  subdivision of the state.  
  1.12     Subd. 2.  [NOTICE; OUT OF COUNTRY JOB OUTSOURCING.] An 
  1.13  employer must give an employee 90-days' advance written notice 
  1.14  of its intent to terminate the employee's job in Minnesota 
  1.15  because the employer intends to shift the performance of the 
  1.16  employee's job duties to someone working outside of the United 
  1.17  States.
