  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to real property; property adjacent to Cedar 
  1.3             Avenue in Richfield; requiring transfer by the 
  1.4             metropolitan airports commission of the property. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TAFT PARK PROPERTY TRANSFER.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [TRANSFER TO CITY OF RICHFIELD.] The 
  1.8   metropolitan airports commission shall transfer the Taft Park 
  1.9   property described in subdivision 2 to the city of Richfield by 
  1.10  December 31, 2001, for the consideration of $1.  To preserve its 
  1.11  ability to conduct current or future aviation operations at the 
  1.12  Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and to protect the 
  1.13  commission from potential liability for those aviation 
  1.14  operations, the commission may: 
  1.15     (1) retain an easement permitting overflight or other 
  1.16  similar property interest in the property; or 
  1.17     (2) impose restrictions on the transferred property's uses 
  1.18  that would be inconsistent with or may create conflicts with 
  1.19  aviation operations. 
  1.20     Subd. 2.  [PROPERTY DESCRIPTION.] The property to be 
  1.21  transferred by the metropolitan airports commission under 
  1.22  subdivision 1 consists of that portion of the SE1/4 of SE1/4, 
  1.23  Sec. 23, T.28 N, R.24 W, bounded by 62nd Street on the south, 
  1.24  Bloomington Avenue on the west, the Crosstown Highway (Hennepin 
  1.25  County Road #62) on the north, and trunk highway #36 (Cedar 
  2.1   Avenue) on the east, all in the city of Richfield in Hennepin 
  2.2   county. 
  2.3      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.4      Section 1 applies in the counties of Anoka, Dakota, 
  2.5   Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington and is effective the day 
  2.6   following its final enactment.
